Pierce wanted to propose to Maggie at a place they love to spend time. He chose The Prairie Wolf Forest Preserve and Dog Park. They spend time in this gorgeous area with their pups so naturally he wanted this to be the place where Maggie would say YES! This was the first proposal in which I had to completely hide myself in the woods. Unlike city proposals where there is often quite a bit of foot traffic and I can blend in as a tourist, the woods are very isolated without any people. I appreciate a casual proposal that uses the couple’s usual routine because then its more of a surprise. The dogs were having a blast and of course clueless as to what was going on but I found it lovely in the photos of them celebrating with hugs in the sunrise while the dogs jumped in and out of the lake. Once the proposal took place we took some posed portraits as the dogs played and on the walk back through the forest Maggie and Pierce took turns drinking a bottle of champagne.
