I am Renae, the creator and photographer of City Savvy Imaging. I am currently based in Chicago and have been a resident since 2007. I have an undergraduate degree in photography and fine art from Illinois State University. I also have a Masters in Elementary Education from Saint Xavier University.

Photography has always been my passion. I took my first photography class in high school when dark rooms were still utilized. I continued my education in photography through college where I began photographing in digital as well as film. Fine art was a large part of my studies which plays a major roll in my photography as it enhances my use of color, light, composition and space.

I am currently an on location only photographer, I like to scope out unique locations for you that fit your style. I always try to keep each shoot as original as I can. I like to choose new locations, props and techniques to ensure that your shoot is unique to any other shoot. I believe that making a shoot unique adds to the value of your photos.

When you book a session with me you will be getting photos that are created with careful preparation and passion. I don’t complete a session until I feel I have a body of work that will provide you with variety of photos that accurately capture the genuine emotions, interaction and personality that unfold during the shoot. My goal is to exceed your expectations and to execute your vision. I compose your shots in my mind before you even arrive to the session. I research the timing, lighting and locations. I take pride in providing quality art you can hang on the walls of your home and if possible I love to hand deliver your order to your doorstep.
