It isn’t often that I get to do a traditional Jewish wedding with all the emotional celebrations before the bride and groom meet under the Chuppah. If you haven’t had the chance to be a part of a Jewish ceremony you will get a glimpse of one in this blog. Included in the day of events for Ariel and Joe was The Tish, The Bedeken , The Veiling of The Bride, The Ketubah Signing , The ceremony under The Chuppah and The Horah dance. These are not all the traditional events but some of the ones that Ariel and Joe included. These events were so moving and beautiful. Many of the modern Jewish ceremonies I cover only include a few ceremonies in their day and sometimes its part of a fusion wedding in which there is another religion celebrated. One of many the reasons I love being a wedding photographer in Chicago is because I get to witness and be a part of so many different traditions in various religions that I have never seen or experienced. I love learning how to photograph these events and always creating new approaches for every wedding I do. Salvage One is where the wedding took place and isn’t it just the moodiest loft you have ever seen? Salvage One is an antique warehouse by day and an events venue by night. All their fun floors of vintage finds and furniture is available for the wedding party to explore in portraits and peruse during cocktail hour.
